Kakadu Air Services
Kakadu Air was acquired as a joint venture between the Flight Standards group and the Top End’s major aircraft maintenance provider – R&R Avionics.
Providing scenic flights over the amazing Kakadu National Park and Arnhemland Plateau, Kakadu Air Services has helped countless commercial pilots gain that elusive first job in the industry for nearly 40 years!
Flight Standards provides ongoing training and development of the team at Kakadu Air as well being able to put forward recent graduates when new pilots are needed.
Mistar Aircraft Charter
Mistar Aircraft Charter provides charter and aerial work operations conjunction with Marthakal Yolngu Air (Elcho Island / Gove) and Aerial Hot Shots (Brisbane) as well as other ad hoc services across the NT, QLD and WA.
Since acquiring the Mistar operation in 2018, Flight Standards has placed more than 80 pilots in their first flying job through the various operations at Mistar.

Hardy Aviation
Flight Standards provides Hardy Aviation with check & training support for their C441 Conquest and C208B Grand Caravan fleets. Flight Standard’s main facility at Darwin International Airport is located opposite the Hardy Aviation precinct and we enjoy a close working relationship with one of the Northern Territory’s leading aviation businesses.
Arafura Aviation
Arafura Aviation is a small, family-owned air charter provider in the Top End, operating a fleet of several Piper Lance and Cherokee 6 aircraft, as well as one Cessna 310. Flight Standards is proud to provide pilot training and development for the Arafura Aviation pilots, consistent with that Company’s intent for quality for customers through high standards.
Chartair
Chartair operates over 40 aircraft from multiple bases across the Northern Territory and Far North Queensland. Flight Standards assists the Chartair Training and Checking department with provision of C441 type training. We have also worked with a number of their current staff providing type training for progression opportunities within the extensive Chartair fleet.
Consolidated Pastoral Company
One of Australia’s largest pastoral operators, CPC maintains many cattle properties in the NT, Western QLD and Kimberley regions. To service their internal travel needs, as well as provide mustering capability, CPC operate a large fleet of single-engine fixed wing aircraft (mostly C172). Flight Standards is proud to have been requested to provide pilot training to the CPC staff, including licence training, low level and aeroplane mustering endorsements, flight reviews and instrument rating training.
Wrightsair
Wrightsair is based at William Creek in remote South Australia, providing various general aviation services to the Central Australia region. Wrightsair is most known for the Lake Eyre scenic flights which it provides all year round to the tourist industry. Flight Standards provides various training and consultancy services to Wrightsair, including aircraft type training and aerial mustering.
East Air
Based in Cairns (Far North Queensland), East Air operates a fleet of Aerocommander and Cessna 402 aircraft in general charter operations on the Cape York Peninsula. In 2016, Flight Standards assisted this Company in establishing a training and checking system for it’s first RPT service – operating a Cessna 208B Grand Caravan between Cairns and Lizard Island. Provision of training for this aircraft is ongoing.
Menzies Aviation
Menzies Aviation is a global provider of passenger, ramp and cargo handling services. At Darwin International Airport, Menzies are engaged by Airnorth, Philippine Airlines, Silk Air, Air Asia and Jetstar Asia.
Flight Standards provides training to the ground staff at Menzies Aviation Darwin in aviation radio procedures.
