Elite AT-11 Synthetic Trainer

Flight Standards operates a modern Elite AT-11 synthetic trainer, upgraded with a visuals package providing photo-realistic imagery through a 120⁰ field of view of any operating area within Australia & New Zealand. This device is the only synthetic trainer available to the aviation community in the Top End & is approved by CASA as a Category B device – allowing Instrument Rating credits for IPC & recency, as well as all instrument approach types. It can emulate a wide range of aircraft types – including the Beechcraft Baron – & has capability for all instrument approach types. The RNAV/GPS unit emulated is a Garmin 430W.

The synthetic trainer is available for private hire for those seeking to maintain instrument proficiency / recency during the Dry Season or when not in frequent IFR flying practice.
