Zod the C55 Baron Returns to Darwin for Multi-Engine Training

Our “classic” C55 Baron, affectionately known as Zod (for those who know their Superman villains!), has made a return to Darwin to provide a much-needed multi-engine training capability for us.
The Baron is a fantastic aircraft, the C55 with IO-520 engines for extra power on the smaller 55-series airframe, gives it an easily achieved TAS of 180-plus knots. Ours stays in the traditional “steam-driven” instrument configuration – consistent with our belief that early training needs to be grass-roots, to build the basic techniques that can easily be later applied to glass cockpit aircraft.
