First flown in 1982, the Cessna Caravan has become the most popular utility turboprop in the world, with more than 3,000 delivered. It pairs a spacious cabin, high wing & rugged fixed undercarriage with the proven 675 shp Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-114A. Equally at home on a sealed runway or a remote gravel strip, it is a workhorse of passenger, freight & tourism operations across northern Australia.
For many Top End pilots, the Caravan forms a natural step in their professional pathway & is often their first turbine aircraft. The C208 is available for initial & recurrent type specific training & the Gas Turbine Engine (GTE) Design Feature Endorsement.
Flight Standards is proud to have helped operators across Australia establish a C208 capability, including Hardy Aviation, Outback Spirit, HM Air, Wrightsair, NTAS & Bass Strait Airlines. We also provide ongoing operational support, including training & checking functions, to numerous C208 operations around the country.
Operated by Kakadu Air, this aircraft is only available for training with an instructor (ie dual). It is not available for private hire.
