Honourable Company of Air Pilots BBQ in Darwin on 10 May

Flight Standards is happy to announce we will be hosting a BBQ in Darwin with the Honourable Company of Air Pilots & the Young Air Pilots Association (YAPA) on the 10th of May! Please RSVP to events-yapa@airpilots.org.au by the 7th of May.

More from the HCAP & YAPA below:

The Honourable Company of Air Pilots is a global organisation dedicated to promoting the highest standards of airmanship, aviation safety & professional development within the aviation industry. HCAP provides mentorship, scholarships & training opportunities, fostering the next generation of aircrew while advocating for the integrity & safety of aviation worldwide. Additionally, it serves as a vital network for pilots, offering opportunities to connect, share knowledge & uphold the traditions & values of the aviation community.
While HCAP’s presence in the Northern Territory is not widely recognised, our mission remains steadfast: to engage, inspire & foster meaningful connections among airmen. This is particularly important in Darwin, where the majority of pilots are in the early stages of their careers. Many fall within the Young Air Pilots Association (YAPA) bracket—a branch of HCAP dedicated to supporting & connecting young aviators. We are working with our team in Darwin to bring pilots together in a relaxed, informal setting, with the goal of cultivating a strong & supportive general aviation community.
To start turning this vision into action, the YAPA team has organised a casual gathering over a BBQ, with free sausages provided. The event will take place on Friday, 10th May, at 1700 at 5 Slade Court, offering an opportunity for pilots to connect, share experiences & build relationships outside of their professional environment. To maintain a laid-back atmosphere, uniforms are discouraged & the event will be BYO.
This is the first step in fostering a close-knit & supportive aviation network in the NT & we welcome pilots of all backgrounds & experience levels to join us. If you’re interested or have any questions, please feel free to reach out. Otherwise, please RSVP to events-yapa@airpilots.org.au by 7th May.
We look forward to seeing you there!
